Two EU surveys in 2014 and 2020 confirmed that around 53% of all environmental claims on products were based on vague or false information and even 40% of all environmental claims did not provide verifiable evidence. Independent\, third-party verification is one important tool to achieve credibility. \nAlso\, more and more producers of chemicals\, plastics\, textiles and other materials are thinking about switching to biomass as a renewable resource. It requires companies to prepare and disclose detailed reports on environmental\, social and governance (ESG) issues\, including Scope 3 emissions. \nWho will be affected by the CSRD and when?\nThe CSRD significantly extends the scope of sustainability reporting to a wider range of companies. Any company that meets at least two of the following criteria 250+ employees\, €40m+ turnover or €20m+ total assets\, will be required to comply. From 2024\, the CSRD will apply to companies already subject to the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD).
