SUMMARY:Cellulose Fibres Conference 2025 – New with Biosynthetics!
DESCRIPTION:The conference will again cover the entire value chain of the sustainable textile industry\, from lignocellulose\, pulp\, cellulose fibres such as rayon\, viscose\, modal or lyocell and new developments to a wide range of applications:\nTextiles from renewable fibres\, nonwovens such as wet wipes\, as well as areas such as composites\, hygiene\, packaging or nanocellulose in the food industry. This year\, for the first time\, the conference will include a dedicated session on biosynthetics – a promising area to complement the alternative for bio-based textiles. DESCRIPTION:The unique conference focused on cellulose fibres – in textiles\, hygiene products and packaging. The Cellulose Fibres Conference 2024 will cover the entire value chain\, from lignocellulose\, chemical pulp\, cellulose fibres such as rayon\, viscose\, modal or lyocell and new developments to a wide range of applications. \nRecently the European Commission has made the thorough transition towards sustainability and circularity for different industries and especially the textile sector a main focus. This demands a new way of thinking with regard to sustainability and circularity within the textile economy. This process already starts with the material selection of the fibres used for the textiles. Generally\, textiles consist of fibres\, which can be made from renewable and non-renewable resources. A first step towards improving the sustainability of textiles is the change from non-renewable to renewable fibres. SUMMARY:Einladung zum DuroBast Stakeholder Workshop – Innovative Bastfaseranwendungen für die Industrie
DESCRIPTION:Im Fokus des DuroBast-Projektes (https://durobast.de) steht die Nutzung heimischer Bastfasern zur Herstellung sogenannter Composite-Strukturbauteile im Großserienmaßstab. Hier sollen Bastfasern bei der Herstellung thermoplastisch umformbarer\, naturfaserverstärkter Kunststoffe zum Einsatz kommen und eine industrielle Nutzung nachwachsender Rohstoffe für breite Anwendungsfelder ermöglichen\, die für Bastfasern aufgrund ihrer hohen Feuchtigkeitsaufnahme bisher unzugänglich waren. Die auf diesem Wege hergestellten Materialien und Gewebe erforschte das Projektteam im Rahmen dreier konkreter Anwendungen: Automobilinnenausstattung\, Busfalentenbalg und Sportgeräte wie Snow-und Skateboards. Von feinen 500 Tex Hybridgarnen aus Naturfasern bis hin zur Entwicklung erfolgreicher Faser-Hydrophobierungsverfahren\, konnte das DuroBast Team in den vergangenen Jahren zahlreiche interessante Ergebnisse realisieren.
